Breathe
Data Driven Experience | 2019
Generative storytelling, Digital Installation
Breathe is a data-driven experience which is meant to explore the relationship between man and climate change, investigating Anthropocene and its connection to man and environment. Through a generative storytelling, Breathe discloses NASA open DATA between 1880 and 2018 about global warming as a direct consequence of greenhouse gases emissions.
Why we did it?
Living in 2019 necessarily means having to deal with the strong increase of global warming and, as a Design Studio, we consider important to give our visual contribute to the communication of that phenomenon. Breathe interprets earth’s thought that, year by year, is going to be more turbulent.
How we did it?
Through a generative storytelling, Breathe discloses NASA open DATA between 1880 and 2018 about global warming as a direct consequence of greenhouse gases emissions.
Climate Change
Scientific data show an exponential increase in Earth’s temperature during the years between 1880 and 2018.
Generative storytelling
This installation expands and takes shape by translating and visualizing the data into particles generated by an algorithm that shows different configurations as time passes.
Real time render
Each participant affects the turbulent shapes that identifies random behaviors for every new simulation.
Data-driven
Particles behavior as turbulence are generated by data and describe our planet and its climate change through customized software.

Human-computer interaction
By using a depth sensor, participants can interact with the installation in order to represent their own impact on the warming of our planet.
Interactive sound Soundtrack
changes by each user movement generating spatialized sound effects.
